Tips for your trip to the Balkans

Before you travel to the Balkans, it may be a good idea to consider that the area consists of several different countries with their own languages, currencies and traditions. Some of the countries in the Balkans use the euro, while others have their own currencies. The climate also varies depending on whether you are traveling along the coast or further into the Balkans. During the summer, it can get very hot, especially on the coast. Comfortable shoes are often a good idea, especially in older cities with cobblestone streets and if you are going on a hike in the Balkans. The food in the Balkans is also a big part of the trip, so be sure to try the local flavors.
