Travel to Asia

About our group trips to Asia

Asia is the world's largest continent and is home to an incredible variety of travel destinations. From bustling cities like Tokyo, Bangkok and Seoul, to tropical paradises like Bali, and not least the historical treasures found in China and India. It truly is a place where old and new meet – modern technology alongside millennial traditions. This makes every trip there feel special in its own way. Do you want to see the cherry blossoms in Japan? Or perhaps visit the Taj Mahal in India? Maybe explore the Great Wall of China? Yes, Asia has something for everyone.

What is the weather like in Asia?

Asia has a very variable climate depending on the region, season and altitude. The continent stretches from tropical areas in the south to cold and mountainous regions in the north, which means that the weather can differ greatly between different travel destinations. In general, many popular destinations in Asia have warm temperatures all year round, but often with distinct rainy seasons. For trips to places like Bali and Thailand, it is common to have a tropical climate, while countries like Japan and China have varying seasons with both summer and winter.

Facts about Asia – countries, size and population

The continent is not only the largest in terms of area, with approximately 44.5 million square kilometers, it is also the world's most populous. Around 4.8 billion people live there – that's pretty hard to take in, isn't it? In total, Asia consists of 44 countries, with China being the largest (if you don't count Russia) while the Maldives is the smallest in terms of area. In terms of landscape, there is everything from tropical beaches in Southeast Asia to the high mountains of the Himalayas. The climate and cultures are varied to say the least.

Tokyo

Travel to Tokyo

Tokyo is the capital of Japan and one of the world's largest cities. Here you can see how modern technology and advanced architecture merge with historic temples and timeless traditions. If you're in Tokyo, you can't miss iconic places like Shibuya with its world-famous crosswalk or Asakusa, home to the classic Sensoji Temple. On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji, which is just over 100 kilometers away from the city. Tokyo is also known for its food culture - sushi and matcha are almost synonymous with the city. There are plenty of shopping and entertainment options, so it's truly a destination that never feels exhausted.

Taj Mahal

What is the Taj Mahal?

The Taj Mahal in India is another example of something that is difficult to visit without being a little awed. The building is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and was built in the 17th century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his wife Mumtaz Mahal. So this is more than just a beautiful building, it is a symbol of eternal love. The entire structure is made of white marble and is adorned with detailed ornaments, precious stones and gardens. The Taj Mahal is located in Agra and attracts millions of visitors every year, which probably says something about its importance and beauty.

Great Wall of China

Great Wall of China

Then there is the Great Wall of China, which is perhaps one of the most fascinating structures in the world. The wall stretches for over 20,000 kilometers through northern China and began construction more than 2,000 years ago to protect the country from invasion. Today, it is a very popular tourist destination and also one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Some parts of the wall, especially those located near Beijing, are well preserved and easy to reach. Other parts are more untouched, which in some way makes history feel even closer. Walking on the wall is a special experience that combines both history and amazing views.

Mount Everest

Nepal & Mount Everest

Nepal is another exciting destination with amazing natural experiences. It is home to Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain at 8,849 meters above sea level. In the Himalayan region you will find some of the world's most impressive hiking trails, and these are suitable for both experienced adventurers and those who are new to hiking. In addition to nature, Nepal also offers historic temples, Buddhist monasteries and a special culture, especially in the capital Kathmandu. For many, Nepal is a place where you can encounter adventure, nature and culture at the same time, which feels quite unique.

Tips for your trip to Asia

Asia is truly a huge continent, and there are actually quite a few differences between the countries. Are you planning a trip to Asia? It might be wise to find out what applies to the area you are visiting, as rules and guidelines often vary. Many parts of Asia have a hot and sometimes humid climate. Therefore, it is often best to choose lighter clothing, bring proper sunscreen and comfortable shoes. Also remember to double check if you need a visa or any special vaccinations before you go. In several Asian countries, cash is still widely used, even though card payments are becoming more common. So it can actually be a good idea to bring cash with you, at least to start with. With a little planning, your trip usually goes more smoothly, regardless of whether you are aiming for a big city, a few relaxing days by the sea or experiences with a more cultural touch.
