We pass through the vibrant Newtown district, cross the striking Nelson Mandela Bridge, and visit Constitution Hill , a powerful landmark that was once a notorious prison and is now home to the country’s Constitutional Court. If time allows, we continue to Sandton, Johannesburg’s wealthiest suburb, to stroll through Nelson Mandela Square and admire its iconic statue of Madiba.

Day 3 Kruger National Park
Map
An early start takes us into the world-famous Kruger National Park for a full-day safari in open 4x4 vehicles. Covering nearly 20,000 km², Kruger is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries — a land of sweeping savannas, riverine forests and winding rivers.

Home to an astonishing variety of wildlife, the park hosts Africa’s legendary Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo — as well as cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, kudu, and over 500 bird species. Each game drive offers new encounters and unforgettable moments, whether it’s elephants gathered at a waterhole, a pride of lions resting in the shade, or rare sightings like wild dogs.

By late afternoon we return to our hotel in the greater Hazyview area for dinner and relaxation.

Another early start takes us back into Kruger for a second day of safari. Each drive reveals new surprises: perhaps elephants with calves crossing the road, buffalo moving in vast herds, or the elusive leopard slipping silently through the bush.

The park’s diverse landscapes mean every route tells a different story, from the bird-rich Sabie River valley to the open grasslands where cheetahs roam. Along the way, our guide shares insights into the ecosystem, animal behavior, and the importance of conservation in protecting this extraordinary wilderness.
