Where is Normandy located?

Normandy is located in northwestern France, along the coast of the English Channel. The region stretches from the area around Le Havre and Honfleur in the east to the Cotentin Peninsula and the border with Brittany in the west. Its location makes Normandy easy to combine with Brittany, Paris or other parts of northern France.

The map shows how many of Normandy's most famous attractions are located along or near the coast: the D-Day beaches, Bayeux, Caen, seaside resorts such as Deauville and Trouville, and the monastery island of Mont-Saint-Michel on the border with Brittany. For those wondering where to stay in Normandy, the choice often depends on the focus of the trip - Bayeux and Caen are good for history, the coast for the sea and seaside resorts, and the inland for the countryside, cider farms and quieter environments.
