Weather and climate in Normandy

Normandy has a mild coastal climate influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and the English Channel. Summers are often pleasant rather than hot, with green landscapes, flowering gardens and pleasant temperatures for excursions, cycling and walking. Spring and early summer are popular periods for trips to Normandy thanks to the light, greenery and often pleasant pace of the sights.

The weather can change quickly near the coast, and showers occur throughout the year. It is therefore wise to pack layers, a light rain jacket and comfortable shoes. Autumn can be very beautiful with apple harvest, must, cider production and fewer visitors to many historical sites.
