View of Istanbul

Istanbul trips

Istanbul is Turkey's largest city and one of the world's most historically significant places. Istanbul has been an important part of various empires throughout history, which is evident in the city's architecture and culture. You can enjoy the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar here. The city also has a wide range of restaurants, cafes and shopping venues. Istanbul manages to blend history and modern city life in a way that few other cities can.

Beach in Alanya

Trips to Alanya

Alanya has become something of a favorite among Turkey's coastal cities, especially for those who like both beach life and a little more speed and excitement. Here there are miles of sandy beaches, clear water and a whole host of hotels and restaurants. It's great to just take it easy and relax on the beach, or maybe go on an excursion. If you stroll along the coast you will find lots of cozy beaches and nice walking paths, where there is always something new to discover. If you get tired of sand between your toes, just head towards the center, where there are plenty of shops and even more places to eat. Alanya is really the kind of place where you can mix lazy days in the sun with vibrant city life.

Hagia Sophia in Istanbul

What is Hagia Sophia?

Hagia Sophia is one of Istanbul's most famous landmarks and has a history of almost 1,500 years. Built in the 6th century as a Christian church during the Byzantine Empire and converted into a mosque during the Ottoman Empire. One of the most impressive features of Hagia Sophia is its large dome. Inside the building, you will find a mix of Christian and Islamic details, which makes it special. Hagia Sophia remains one of the world's greatest architectural works and is part of Turkey's history and culture.

Blue Mosque in Istanbul

What is the Blue Mosque?

The Blue Mosque is one of Turkey's most famous buildings and an important religious center. Built in the 17th century, it is particularly famous for its six minarets and its silhouette, which is visible in Istanbul. Inside the Blue Mosque, there are thousands of hand-painted tiles in shades of blue, which is what gave the mosque its name. It is still used for daily prayers but is also accessible to those who want to see this architecture and the atmosphere here. The Blue Mosque is located opposite the Hagia Sophia and is a very popular destination.

Cliffs in Cappadocia

Cappadocia Travel

Cappadocia really stands out among the regions of Turkey. If you like different landscapes, this is the place to visit. The special rock formations almost look like they were taken from another world, and everything has been shaped by volcanoes over thousands of years. There is something very special about the way the mountains look. Here you can find homes, old churches and even entire underground cities that are carved straight out of the rock. Another thing that many people think of when they hear about trips to Cappadocia are all the hot air balloons. A lot of tourists come here specifically to float over the landscape at sunrise.

Tips for your trip to Turkey

Before your trip to Turkey, it is a good idea to pack according to the climate and planned activities. During the summer, light clothing is fine, but it may be wise to bring something warmer for evenings or trips inland. If you plan to hike, you should have a good pair of shoes, plus a good basic fitness level. In tourist destinations, English usually works well. Dress respectfully when visiting mosques, cover shoulders and knees, and wear appropriate clothing. Turkey is generally a very diverse place, with different cuisines and experiences.
